The Aston Martin Rapide S combines the essence of Aston Martin's grand touring coupes with a healthy dose of practicality. It uses the same platform as the DB9 but is extended by 250 mm to accommodate an extra pair of doors. The extended roofline tapers to a hatchback tailgate. Under the hood sits a roaring 6.0-liter V12 engine.
Before it was named the Rapide S, it was simply called the Aston Martin Rapide and had only 470 hp. With the addition of the S, power rose to 552 hp in the updated model. The transition from Rapide to Rapide S was accompanied by a subtle styling update, including a more prominent front grille and a slightly larger rear spoiler.
