The Lexus LFA is a two-door sports car that was produced by the Japanese automaker Toyota under the luxury brand Lexus between 2010 and 2012. Lexus built 500 units during the two years the car was in production.
Development of the LFA, codenamed TXS, began in early 2000. The first prototype was completed in June 2003, after which the first tests at the Nürburgring took place in October 2004. Over the course of the decade, numerous concept cars were unveiled at various auto shows, and the first concept was presented as a design study at the North American International Auto Show in January 2005.
