Houston Rockets jersey history No. 25 Cliff Meely (1971⁃75)

The Houston Rockets have had players donning a total of 52 different jersey numbers (and have one not part of any numerical series for Houston assistant coach and general manager Carroll Dawson) since their founding at the start of the 1967-68 season, worn by just under 500 players in the course of Rockets history.

Since seven of those jersey numbers have since been retired in honor of some of the greatest Rockets of all time who wore them, there’s a lot of history to cover.

This article focuses on Cliff Meely, the forward who wore number 25. After completing his college career in Colorado, Meely was selected seventh overall by the Houston Rockets in the 1971 NBA Draft.

The Rosedale, Mississippi-born player spent the first five seasons of his professional career with Houston before being cut from the roster in 1975.

During his time with the Rockets, Meely wore only jersey number 25 and averaged 8.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.
