Steam and Condensate
Steam distribution
Calculator
Steam is water in its gaseous state, created by heating liquid water, while condensate is the liquid water that forms when steam cools and releases its stored heat (latent heat) in a heating or industrial process, transitioning back from vapor to liquid. This process happens everywhere steam transfers heat, like in radiators or heat exchangers, forming condensate that must be removed to maintain system efficiency and prevent damage like water hammer.
