The McLaren P1 is a flagship sports car from the British brand McLaren Automotive. Designed by American car designer Frank Stephenson, it is the second addition to McLaren's Ultimate Series following the McLaren F1. The P1 is considered the spiritual successor to the F1 and was one of the first high-performance sports cars to introduce hybrid technology; the Porsche 918 Spyder was already in production earlier, and the LaFerrari was introduced at the same time.
Like the F1, the P1 features a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive, and a carbon fiber monocoque. A total of 375 examples were produced, with various special editions such as the non-street-legal P1 GTR and P1 LM, which were produced in smaller runs.
