Porsche 918 Spyder(2015)

The Porsche 918 Spyder embodies the essence of the Porsche idea: a combination of high-performance racing technology with excellent suitability for everyday use, and maximum performance with minimum consumption. The 918 Spyder marks the beginning of a new chapter in the future of hybrid propulsion.

And it is not just technology pioneers who are enthusiastic about this flagship project. The 918 Spyder demonstrates the potential of hybrid propulsion on an unprecedented scale, with a parallel improvement in both fuel efficiency and performance, without compromising either. This is the idea that has made the Porsche 911 the most successful sports car in the world over the past 50 years. In short, the 918 Spyder contains the genetic blueprint for the Porsche sports car of the future.

The Porsche 918 Spyder is strongly influenced by its ties to motorsport. A number of developments implemented in the Porsche race car for the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2014 were applied to the 918 Spyder – and vice versa. This plug-in hybrid combines the performance of a race car with an output of over 880 hp with an estimated NEDC fuel consumption of just three liters per 100 km, which is lower than most compact cars today.
