Modification of a scaffold

Modification of a scaffold, particularly if carried out by persons without adequate competence, can lead to instability and an increased risk of persons falling from the scaffold.

Remember.. Only competent persons who have been trained and are experienced in this kind of work may make modifications to scaffolds!

Regularly inspecting scaffold ties to check they are not modified or altered by unauthorised people e.g. finishing trades who may loosen, relocate or remove ties to gain access to walls and openings.
