Manually operated Circular Gasket cutters |
Circular gasket cutters are tools used to accurately cut perfectly round gaskets of various sizes and materials. These cutters usually consist of a center pin, an adjustable cutting arm with a blade, and a cutting board as a base.

Measuring: The user measures the inner and outer diameter of the part for which the gasket is needed.
Setting the cutter: The adjustable blade on the cutter is set to these measurements.
Cutting the outer diameter: The centering pin is pushed through the gasket material and placed on the cutting board. The cutting arm is rotated to cut the outer edge of the gasket.
Cutting the inner diameter: The blade is reset to the inner diameter, the tool is placed back on the pin, and the inner edge is cut.
Key features and components
Central pin: A steel pivot pin that anchors the gasket material and serves as a pivot point for the cutting tool.
Adjustable cutting blade: A blade that can be moved along the cutting arm to set the desired radius or diameter for cutting.
Cutting board/Base: A stable base that provides a surface for the gasket material and holds the central pin.
Cutting arm: A rod or arm that holds the adjustable blade and rotates around the center pin.
Handle/crank: For manual operation, providing a grip to rotate the cutting arm.
Motorized option: For high-volume or high-speed gasket production, some cutting machines use a gear motor instead of a crank.
Adding bolt holes (optional): A hole punch can be used to make bolt holes in the gasket.
Common applications
Industrial and commercial use: Manufacturing gaskets for flanges and other sealing applications in various industries.
Repair and renovation: On-site installation and renovation work requiring custom gaskets.
Prototyping: Producing samples or small batches of custom gaskets for various materials.

Summary: Gasket cutters
There may be situations where no gasket is available or where it is not possible to order a gasket. In such cases, it can be useful to cut the gasket yourself.
As already described, in addition to the manual gasket cutters mentioned here, motor-driven gasket cutters are also available, which can be useful if gaskets need to be cut regularly and/or in large quantities.
Tools are also available for cutting stuffing box gaskets, that can simplify the work. Of course, gasket pullers are also available for this purpose.
