What are Double-End Stud Bolts

Double-End Stud Bolts

Double-end studs are screw fasteners with threads on both ends and an unthreaded section in the middle.

Double-end studs are intended for use in constructions where one of the threaded ends is installed into a tapped hole and on the other end a hex nut with for example a washer is used to clamp the fastener to the surface into which the bolt is screwed.

Options, Materials, and Considerations

Double-end studs are high-strength, durable threaded fasteners available in a wide variety of configurations, sizes, and thread types to meet the needs of their intended use.

Double-end studs are a reliable and versatile fastening option used extensively in many industries. Some of these light and heavy-duty applications include:

  • Wind Towers
  • Automotive
  • Power Generation
  • Construction
  • Railway & Infrastructure

Double-end studs from inches to metric are available in a variety of materials (ASTM,,DIN,BS,API) such as carbon and stainless steel and other exotic material grades that meet the needs of any industrial application.

In principle, any acceptable diameter for double-end studs can be supplied and/or manufactured. This also applies to the length, where the stud length must be precisely specified, including the total length, the length per end, and possibly the unthreaded portion. A reliable supplier can certainly help with the decision to be made and specify what is possible.
