Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC)

Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) are two distinct activities that form part of quality management.

QC is the process that ensures quality requirements are actually met by detecting and correcting defects. This includes, among other things, inspecting semi-finished products before and after processing.
