Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) are two distinct activities that form part of quality management.
QA focuses on the process of measuring and ensuring that quality requirements are met. QA activities include, among other things, reviewing and coordinating production documents and overseeing production.
QC is the process that ensures quality requirements are actually met by detecting and correcting defects. This includes, among other things, inspecting semi-finished products before and after processing.

A solid quality management program minimizes defects and ensures a smooth transition through all phases of the project.
